A historic pavilion with a fresh new look

The Drawing Room was commissioned to breathe new life into the iconic Elizabeth College Cricket Pavilion, originally built in the 1920s.

The balcony terrace, a focal point for players and spectators alike, had fallen into disrepair and no longer met modern safety standards. Our task was to create a replacement that was both functional and sympathetic to the heritage of the building.

The brief called for a careful balance: introducing a safe, durable, and practical structure while ensuring the Pavilion’s historic character remained undisturbed. The new design needed to accommodate the needs of players, scorers, and spectators, with materials robust enough to endure frequent use, even from cricket spikes!
