Using the old to make the new at Argyll House

This project involved the complete renovation of this family home in St Saviours, transforming a tired bungalow and reimagining it as a modern, practical, and light-filled family home.

Inspired by the stunning rural setting, our design concept included the use of natural materials to ensure the house blends sympathetically into its surroundings.

This project is a great example of the benefits of the sustainable re-use of an existing building, reducing the environmental impact and improving cost efficiency. We used much of the existing bungalow and outbuilding structures to create this light-filled and functional two-storey family home.

Key Architectural Features

  • Larch open joint cladding and with reclaimed granite
  • Two-story window to enhance natural lighting
  • Scandi interiors

From the very beginning, Tom took the time to understand our needs and preferences, tailoring the design to suit our family’s lifestyle. The home is not only beautiful but also incredibly functional, with numerous thoughtful features and additions that we would never have thought of on our own.

The entire team was professional, creative, and always available to answer our questions and address any concerns. They made what is typically a stressful process enjoyable and even fun!

We were pleased to manage this project from design concept through to completion.
