Private Home: the restoration and modernisation of one of Guernsey's most significant historic homes

Project Overview

This project involved the sensitive and considered refurbishment of a Neo-Classical Regency style building. Situated in a commanding position on a cliff edge, the property is afforded spectacular coastal views.

Our brief was to sensitively refurbish the external fabric of this protected 18th-century property while developing the interior into a functioning, modern dwelling. The success of this extensive fit-out relied on a multi-disciplinary team. We worked in close coordination with interior designers, landscape designers, quantity surveyors, security advisors, structural engineer’s, and M&E consultants to ensure that every modern intervention respected the building’s heritage.

Key Features:

  • £8m + total construction contract with 750 sq. m (8000 sq. ft) of curated accommodation.
  • Reinstatement of original period features, window shutters, staircases, doorway linings, and timber panelled reveals.
  • Landscaping the extensive grounds and designing a new driveway, garden rooms and patio areas to fit within the site’s natural topography and historical context.

To respect the privacy of our clients, further details and photography of this home is not available.
