Project Overview
Our clients were looking to repurpose a brownfield site and redundant greenhouses, so they began exploring alternative uses with renewable energy providers. This led to the opportunity to transform the site into a solar farm, giving it a new lease of life while supporting the island’s push for sustainable energy.
We supported our clients with obtaining pre-app planning advice and the formal planning processes to install an array of ground mounted photovoltaic solar panels. Designed to generate 2.965 MWp, this landmark project marks a major step toward strengthening Guernsey’s energy resilience and delivering on the States of Guernsey’s 2020–2050 Energy Policy. Described by the States’ Head of Energy and Climate Change as “significant” in helping meet the island’s 5MW renewable energy target, the development represents real progress toward a low-carbon future.
